Nonno Sanノノさん
Italian cooking, Japanese hands.
Nothing fusion about it: every plate is either a faithful Italian classic or a dish of itameshi — the Italian cooking Japan adopted and refined over half a century. Nonno is the Calabrian grandfather; San, the Japanese mark of respect. The name says it all: family, and what gets passed down.
The menu
Open all day, from caffè to dinner.
A short menu of family recipes: espresso served al bancone all day, and from the kitchen antipasti, primi e secondi — cacio e pepe, Calabrian-style pasta, beef carpaccio, crudo.
Il caffè
Espresso the Italian way, al bancone — on its own or with something, all day long.
Antipasti
'Nduja, salumi, burrata: the table starts with sharing.
Small hungers
Polpette, tramezzini, sando, filled croissants — any time of day.
Dolci
Mascarpone cream — chocolate, matcha or kinako. Italy ends sweetly; so does Japan.
